Differences in American and Asian Culture essays

Differences in American and Asian Culture essays The family and cultural values of Asian countries and the United States are very different. However, those values in Asia differ dramatically among different countries. Therefore, it would be difficult to explain the values of Asia as whole, but rather, it would be easier to explain the values based in one country. Some of the most common countries people mention as part of Asia are Japan and China. These two countries are considered the most dominant in the Asian Continent. However, their values differ from one another. Therefore, you would have to choose between these two cultures and differing it with the United States culture. Beings a lot of business is done between the United States and Japan, it would seem most fittingly to differ these two countries in regards to their cultures. Many Americans travel to Japan each year for business related purposes, whether for a corporation or for the Armed Forces, whatever the case, Americans would spend part of their life in Japan. Americans must know that their cultures are different of those in Japan. For example, the family in Japan is considered closer than that compared to families in the United States, and marriages are also different from those in America. Also, certain behaviors that are of everyday use differ between these two countries. Weddings in America are different from those in Japan in some forms and comparable in others. In Japan, the grooms family is to send a formal letter to the brides family, requesting for the hand of the bride. Also, a letter is prepared and presented to the brides family on the day of the wedding to confirm and commemorate the official acceptance of the bride into the grooms family. In picking the wedding date, an astrologer is used to select an auspicious date for the wedding. On the wedding day, the grooms family sends out a whole bridal procession of musicians, servants, and relatives to fetch ...

Changes in the Workplace Essay Example for Free

Changes in the Workplace Essay I believe the work environments can be positive or negative on the psychology health and workplace. The work environment has many properties that can affect both psychological and physical well-being, which is important to understand those aspects of work environments as well as identifying psychosocial characteristics of the workplace, which can affect his or her health. The first step is to create a psychologically workplace, which takes commitment and time to develop a strategy to effect changes at the workplaces to improve the health of all employees. For example: the choices that each person makes and how the individual treats his or her bodies; not only affects the individual health but also the individual mental health, which can be carried over to the workplace causing unwanted stress. Also lack of sleep making it hard to concentrate, irritated with the employees, and unable to do his or her daily tasks that the job requires, which can make the workplace more difficult. Unhealthy diet can make the individual sick and unable to complete the job that’s needs to be done, as well as mental stress that can cause more health problems. Studies on relationships between health and psychology has become more establish in recent years because researchers have provided insight into how an individual’s psychology and health. Such as the individual personalities, personal relationships, and the individual mental and biological processes are all factor in relation to health psychology, which needs to be considered when trying to maintain or to balance his or her health, is to find the correct balance of treatment choices, such as circumstances or other alternative that may be adding to the cause of physical health issues. I believe that lifestyle choices that can affect psychology and health in the workplace can be poor diet. For example: When an individual chooses to skip breakfast in the morning can have a difficult time concentrating, or become ir ritable. The individual may also develop physical symptoms such as headache, dizziness, or nauseas. When the individual becomes irritable, this can lead to lack of communication with other employees as well as loss of production on everyone’s schedule. I also believe when making poor choices can develop problems that can affect the workplace, also leads to psychological, behavioral, and physical difficulties. To enhance health and prevent illness is to improve his or her allover health, even if the changes are  small; it can make a big difference by enhancing his or her health and to prevent illness. For example: having well-balance meals that includes breakfast and a healthy diet can provide energy, which will also lower the risk of certain disease, such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and hypertension. To maintaining a healthy body, and a health weight, is to have a healthy diet and physical activity to decrease the risk for cardiovascular disease, and reducing the heart rate. However, taking care of our body is a big step toward emotional and mental health because the mind and the body are linked to each other, and when the individual improves his or her physical health, well the individual will experience greater mental and emotional well-being (Lifestyle to enhance Health and Prevent Illness). Fast-talking Dames In The Films Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Fast-talking Dames In The Films - Essay Example The film â€Å"Adams Ribs† constructs Amanda as a Fast-Talking Dame. Amanda is ahead of time in her career and speech. The film introduces a woman who after learning that her husband is having an affair with another woman, fires a gun at them but one bullet hits her husband on the shoulder. The case is allover in the newspapers. Banners family consists of both the husband and the wife being in the law profession. The case is received differently by the couple. This brings an argument in the family apartment because Adam is assigned the case on the prosecutor side while Amanda seeks the accused who agrees she represent her as a personal lawyer. Amanda sympathizes with the woman because she believes that it illegal for a man to cheat on his wife. This feeling pushes her to request the woman if she may represent her as the lawyer in the case because she believes in equality. Amanda tries to outweigh her husband in the career. Also, Adam cannot keep the pace of Amanda speech since she talks very fast when arguing in the house about the case she is representing the accused. This constructs Amanda as a fast talking dame. In the courtroom ,Amanda bases her argument on the issue that both sexes are equal. However, Adam reminds Amanda that there is a difference between a woman and a man but, Amanda argues that the difference is quite small, Adam still insists the difference is significant. This is traditional notion that mocks the female who try to compete with the men since they should be seen and not heard Finally, at the end of the case, Amanda is able to convince the judge who makes the ruling in her favor. Thus, Amanda’s client is not found guilty. Amanda seems to be very dominant in the film. Almost all arguments that arise she emerges as the winner due to her good command of speech that Adam find so hard to keep up with.

Research paper - Essay Example They also realized that they had a lot in common. Eventually, tribes and races intermarried hence socialism became the norm. However, in the modern world, there exist people who practice racism against other races. Different types of races have different types of music. Music from all over the world differs on harmony, melodies, rhythms and musical instruments. Different tribes and races, dance differently and sing differently. Why should it be different then when it comes to music? This paper seeks to explain this difference, its importance and beauty. Those who interact with other people from other races end up enjoying music from a different cultural background. A clear difference between races and ethnic communities can be seen from a comparison of their music. It is easy to tell the difference between African, Spanish, Indian and South American music. Therefore, it is important to experience a communities’ music before interacting with them since it help in understanding their practices and interest. Music is diverse, but it seeks to develop a tendency and pattern of growth1. However, some types of ethnic music carry a message that relates well with people of other races as well. The methods used to compare various types of ethnic music include: timbre, harmony, rhythm and universals such as: sound perception, scale structures, and melodic contour. Timbre refers to the distinct sound made by various voices and instruments. Harmony refers to the sound created when two or more pitches are combined. Moreover, rhythms also vary in various ethnic communities.2 The song ‘Love is color-blind’ by Sarah Connor clearly shows that there is really no distinction among various races. It also shows the way children of different races grow together without discrimination but grow to learn of their differences and deviate from their previous fellowship. This people grow out of love and

My presentation takes less than 2 minutes to show and doesn’t require mouse click to move on except for at the final references slide. This presentation will be published on business meetings, so every second counts. It has a small file size, therefore it is easily downloadable, can be forwarded via email or streamed online without even downloading it in the future. It is short enough to keep the attention awaken, colourful, contains sound effect, animations and transitions, therefore it encourages people watching it carefully, which is the company’s goal. 3. List at least five things you should check in your presentation to ensure that it is suitable for viewing. Before publishing any presentation I need to check its quality, design, content and the constraints, that needs to be taken into account. First I should do a spell check, and an overall content check (accuracy and clarity) to make sure it contains all the information in the right order it has to, therefore it is easily understandable for the viewers). Second I need to check the design has been used including the text formatting, the position and size of the pictures and other contents, as well as the timing, animations and transitions. Finally needs to be checked, that the presentation follows the local guidelines of the company, contains the list of sources and references. 4. Now use your list from question 3 above to check your presentation. Make changes as necessary in response to any problems you identify in your presentation. Use the box below to list any problems you have identified and the changes you have made to ensure your presentation meets requirements. I’ve added the word â€Å"Romanesco† to the spellcheck dictionary, so in the future it will not be marked as a spelling error. I’ve changed the colour and the gradient of the main title on the first slide, so it better matches the colours of the modified master slide.
